Night of the Assassin (2023)

In a Korea torn by internal power struggles during the Joseon Dynasty, a mysterious figure moves silently in the night — Lee Nan, a former royal assassin who vanished without a trace. Years later, plagued by illness and longing for peace, he reemerges in a small village to live his final days in obscurity. But fate has other plans.

When a feared warlord begins massacring resistance fighters and threatening the throne, Lee Nan finds himself pulled back into a world of blood and betrayal. With his old enemies hunting him and new alliances forming in the shadows, the aging killer must once again wield his blade to protect the innocent and confront the ghosts of his past.

Night of the Assassin delivers a tense, atmospheric journey of honor, revenge, and redemption. With elegant choreography, haunting landscapes, and a stoic hero facing death with quiet fury, this film stands as a gripping homage to classic Korean samurai cinema.
