Genre: Comedy, Family, Adventure
Plot:
Little Man II (2025) is the hilarious and heartwarming sequel to the 2006 comedy Little Man, following the chaotic and uproarious life of Calvin Sims (played by Marlon Wayans), the criminal mastermind who was once an adult in the body of a child. After the events of the first film, Calvin has managed to stay out of trouble, but now, several years later, he faces new challenges—this time, as a grown man.
Calvin, having spent years in hiding and out of the criminal world, is now living an undercover life with his wife, Vanessa (played by a returning Kerry Washington), and their child. Their once small family has grown, and Calvin has been trying to live a normal life, free from the chaos of his past. However, Calvin’s short stature and childlike appearance continue to cause misunderstandings, leading to some hilarious situations that test the patience of his family and friends.
But when Calvin is mistakenly believed to be a child prodigy by a prominent figure in the criminal underworld, he’s reluctantly thrust back into the world he tried to escape. This time, the stakes are higher, as an even more dangerous criminal organization is on the hunt for Calvin. The gang believes that he has information about a massive heist they are planning, and Calvin, once again, must use his wit and humor to navigate a web of absurd situations.
To make matters worse, Calvin’s childhood nemesis, Agent Murphy (played by David Alan Grier), who once had a longstanding feud with Calvin during the first film, resurfaces as a security consultant working for the criminal organization. The constant back-and-forth between Calvin and Agent Murphy leads to a series of funny cat-and-mouse chases, complete with misunderstandings and pratfalls.
To escape the clutches of the criminal organization and prevent a catastrophe, Calvin must rely on the help of his family, especially his clever wife, Vanessa, and their quick-thinking son, Tyler (played by a young actor like Caleb McLaughlin). With Vanessa’s support and Tyler’s childlike wisdom, Calvin begins to outsmart the criminals in increasingly ridiculous ways. The family must band together to bring the criminals down, with Calvin playing a key role in the final confrontation, where his underestimation as “just a little man” works to his advantage.
As the film nears its climax, Calvin realizes that while he might not fit the traditional hero mold, his heart, family, and courage make him the perfect person to save the day. He and his family ultimately thwart the criminal gang’s plan, turning their enemies’ tricks against them in a hilarious and satisfying conclusion.
What to Expect:
Little Man II continues the series’ blend of slapstick humor, clever twists, and heartwarming family moments. The comedy will be fast-paced, relying on physical humor and misunderstandings, as Calvin tries to balance his family life with his new role in the underworld. Expect plenty of hilarious situations involving Calvin’s short stature, misunderstandings from those around him, and his relentless efforts to outwit those who underestimate him.
Marlon Wayans brings his signature humor to the role of Calvin once again, providing a mix of goofy antics and heartfelt moments. Kerry Washington’s return as Vanessa will provide an emotional anchor for the story, showcasing the loving but comedic dynamic between the couple. The film will also feature the return of several characters from the first film, including Agent Murphy and others, whose quirky interactions with Calvin continue to add to the chaos.
The film will also focus on the importance of family, as Calvin’s relationships with his wife, son, and friends evolve in a more positive direction. Despite the zany comedy, the movie will deliver a message about resilience, loyalty, and the power of sticking together as a family through the most absurd situations.
