Aladdin 2: The Return of Jafar (2025)

Aladdin 2: The Return of Jafar (2025) is the long-awaited sequel to Disney’s 2019 live-action Aladdin, continuing the magical adventures of Aladdin, Princess Jasmine, and the iconic Genie. Directed by Guy Ritchie, the film brings back the charm, humor, and breathtaking visuals of the first movie while diving into new challenges and greater stakes. The sequel expands on the rich world of Agrabah, reintroducing familiar characters and introducing new, darker threats.
Plot Overview:
The story picks up a few months after the events of the first film, with Aladdin (Mena Massoud) and Princess Jasmine (Naomi Scott) now settling into their royal roles in Agrabah. Aladdin has finally found a balance between his humble past and his new life as a prince, while Jasmine begins to navigate her responsibilities as a queen, shaping the future of her kingdom.
However, peace is short-lived when Jafar (Marwan Kenzari), the once-deposed sorcerer, returns in a darker and more menacing form, seeking revenge for his defeat in the first film. Having escaped his prison in the lamp, Jafar uses dark magic to summon new forces of evil and reclaims his pursuit of ultimate power, threatening to overthrow the royal family once again.
This time, Jafarโs plot involves not only stealing the magic of the lamp but also manipulating the very fabric of Agrabahโs magic to take control of the entire region. Aladdin and Jasmine must rally together, with the help of Genie (Will Smith) and their trusted friends, to stop Jafar from plunging the kingdom into darkness. Along the way, they face moral dilemmas, test the limits of their courage, and confront the deepest fears of their hearts.
