Alien: Covenant 2017

Ridley Scott’s Alien: Covenant (2017) is a visually stunning and intense addition to the Alien franchise. Serving as a sequel to Prometheus and a prequel to Alien (1979), the film follows the crew of the colony ship Covenant as they land on an uncharted planet, hoping for paradise but finding terror instead.
The film excels in its eerie atmosphere, breathtaking cinematography, and strong performances, particularly from Michael Fassbender, who plays both David and Walter, two androids with conflicting ideologies. The horror elements return to the franchise’s roots, delivering gruesome and suspenseful scenes reminiscent of the original Alien.
However, Covenant struggles with its script and character development. Many crew members make questionable decisions, leading to predictable deaths. While the film explores fascinating themes of creation, evolution, and artificial intelligence, it sometimes loses focus, trying to bridge Prometheus and Alien without fully satisfying fans of either.
Despite its flaws, Alien: Covenant is a thrilling sci-fi horror film with memorable moments and spectacular visuals. While it may not reach the heights of Alien or Aliens, it remains an engaging entry in the franchise.
