Plot Summary:
21 Grams is a raw and emotionally gripping drama that intertwines the lives of three people through tragedy, love, and redemption. Told in a non-linear narrative, the film explores how a single event—an accidental car crash—irrevocably changes the lives of Paul Rivers (Sean Penn), Cristina Peck (Naomi Watts), and Jack Jordan (Benicio Del Toro).

Paul is a critically ill mathematician awaiting a heart transplant, whose survival depends on the tragedy of others. Cristina is a grieving mother and wife whose life is shattered when her family is killed in the accident. Jack, a deeply religious ex-convict, is the driver responsible for the crash, struggling with guilt and his faith.

As their paths converge, the film delves into themes of loss, guilt, forgiveness, and the interconnectedness of human lives. Alejandro González Iñárritu’s masterful direction and Guillermo Arriaga’s intricate screenplay create a mosaic of raw emotions, with each piece revealing the characters’ depths and vulnerabilities.
