John Carter (2012)

John Carter (2012) is a science fiction adventure film directed by Andrew Stanton, known for his work on Finding Nemo and WALL-E. The film is based on Edgar Rice Burroughs’ classic 1912 novel A Princess of Mars, which is the first book in the Barsoom series.
The story follows John Carter (played by Taylor Kitsch), a former Confederate soldier who is mysteriously transported to Mars, known as Barsoom in the series. On Mars, he discovers a world in turmoil, populated by various alien races and ruled by warring factions. Carter gains superhuman strength and agility due to the planet’s lower gravity, which makes him a formidable warrior.
As he navigates this strange new world, Carter becomes entangled in a conflict between the planet’s inhabitants. He encounters Dejah Thoris (played by Lynn Collins), the courageous princess of the city of Helium, and Thark, a ruthless warlord. Carter must navigate political intrigue and combat while trying to find a way back to Earth.
