🎬 Best of the Best (1989)
“Best of the Best” (1989) is a classic martial arts film that has become one of my most watched favorites! The movie follows five American fighters as they travel to Korea for an international martial arts tournament, facing opponents who are far ahead of them in terms of technique and skills.
Produced by and starring Phillip Rhee, the film is loosely based on his own experiences during his fighting days.
It features a great plot, well-choreographed fight sequences, a good soundtrack, and outstanding performances from a talented cast including Eric Roberts, James Earl Jones, Chris Penn, John Dye, David Agresta, Tom Everett, Sally Kirkland, Louise Fletcher, Hee II Cho, James Lew, Ken Nagayama, Ahmad Rashad, Simon Rhee, and a small role for Kane Hodder.
Though “Best of the Best” wasn’t widely received upon its release, it has gained a massive following over the years. If you’re a fan of martial arts films, this is one you don’t want to miss!
