ENCANTO 2 (2025)

The magic of Encanto continues with Encanto 2 (2025), a vibrant, heartwarming sequel that brings back the beloved Madrigal family for another enchanting adventure. Directed by Jared Bush and Byron Howard, this follow-up promises to build on the themes of family, self-acceptance, and the power of love that made the original such a global sensation.

Plot: Set a few years after the events of the first film, Encanto 2 explores how the Madrigal family has grown and adapted to their newfound connection with the village after the magic was restored. The family’s gift is no longer just a symbol of power but a symbol of unity, with each member learning how to use their abilities for the greater good.

However, when a new magical crisis threatens the harmony they’ve worked so hard to build, Mirabel (voiced by Stephanie Beatriz) once again finds herself at the center of the family’s troubles. A new, mysterious force is causing the enchanted house to lose its magic, and it’s up to Mirabel to uncover the source of this disruption. Alongside her sisters Isabela, Luisa, and the rest of the family, Mirabel must go on a journey beyond the walls of the house to find a solution that can restore the magic—and perhaps uncover some hidden secrets about the family’s past.

As the family faces new challenges, Mirabel’s bond with her family deepens, and she learns that magic isn’t the only thing that makes the Madrigals special—it’s the love and togetherness that hold them together, even when the world around them seems uncertain.

Performances: Stephanie Beatriz continues to shine as Mirabel, capturing the character’s optimism, determination, and vulnerability. The voice cast brings the same energy and charm as in the original, with Jessica Darrow returning as Luisa, Diane Guerrero as Isabela, and John Leguizamo as the beloved Bruno. New characters, including a mysterious new ally voiced by Lin-Manuel Miranda, add fresh voices and dynamics to the story.

The real heart of Encanto 2 lies in the family dynamics, and the relationships between the Madrigal siblings continue to be a powerful element of the film. Mirabel’s growth as the family’s “un-gifted” member is explored more deeply, and her evolving relationship with Isabela, once defined by competition, shows a heartwarming shift toward mutual respect and support.
