Preservation (2014)

Preservation is a minimalist survival thriller that escalates from quiet tension to raw terror, set deep within an isolated forest where civility vanishes and primal instincts take control.
Wit Neary (Wrenn Schmidt) joins her husband Mike (Aaron Staton) and his troubled brother Sean (Pablo Schreiber) on a hunting trip to reconnect and escape their everyday pressures. As they set up camp in a closed-off nature preserve, the woods feel eerily still, but the real danger is yet to come.
When they awaken to find their gear stolen and black Xs marked on their foreheads, it’s clear they’ve become prey in someone else’s game. Stalked by silent, masked hunters, the trio must rely on their instincts to survive. But as panic rises and trust disintegrates, Wit discovers a ruthless strength within herself — and that the fight for life doesn’t always bring out the best in people.
Directed by Christopher Denham, Preservation is a chilling reflection on human behavior under pressure — where survival can mean becoming the very thing you fear.
