Set after the climactic events of Seven Kings Must Die, “Return to Bebbanburg” follows Uhtred (Alexander Dreymon) as he solidifies his rule over Bebbanburg — but peace proves fleeting. When a mysterious Norse warlord from across the sea arrives to stake his claim on Northumbria, Uhtred is forced to wield his sword once more to protect his home and legacy.
The scene opens with the cold mists rolling over the cliffs of Bebbanburg as Uhtred stands atop the fortress walls, staring down a fleet of black-sailed longships. His voiceover lingers:
“I thought my wars were done. But the gods are not yet finished with me.”As night falls, flaming arrows rain down on the shore. Uhtred, armored in worn leather and steel, leads his warriors into a brutal shield wall clash on the beach — blades clashing, blood splattering, war cries filling the air.
