When the wizard Gandalf the Grey visits peaceful hobbit Bilbo Baggins, he invites him on a dangerous quest to reclaim the lost Dwarf kingdom of Erebor from the dragon Smaug. Though reluctant, Bilbo joins Thorin Oakenshield and his band of dwarves on a journey across Middle-earth.
