The Last Outpost (2022)

The Last Outpost is a historical war drama set during the final days of the Nazi regime in World War II. Directed by Magnus Martens , the film stars Stellan Skarsgård and Pilou Asbæk in leading roles.

The story follows a group of German soldiers stranded in the remote Norwegian wilderness after Hitler’s death and Germany’s surrender in May 1945. With no orders, no communications, and surrounded by enemy forces, the soldiers must decide whether to fight on for a lost cause or surrender to the inevitable.

As tensions rise within the group — from loyal Nazis to disillusioned deserters — they encounter local villagers who are torn between fear and compassion. Amid the moral dilemmas, one soldier begins questioning his past actions and seeks redemption before it’s too late.
The Last Outpost is a powerful tale of humanity in the face of defeat — exploring guilt, survival, and what remains when the war is over, but the battle for conscience has just begun.
