Lethal Weapon 3 (1992)

Lethal Weapon 3 continues the high-octane, buddy-cop action that defined the franchise, bringing back the iconic duo of Martin Riggs (Mel Gibson) and Roger Murtaugh (Danny Glover). Directed by Richard Donner, this third installment mixes explosive action with the charm and humor that fans love.
The plot revolves around Riggs and Murtaugh uncovering a corrupt ex-cop, Jack Travis (Stuart Wilson), who is involved in a dangerous arms deal. As they chase down the weapons and bring justice to the streets, the pair also faces personal challenges—particularly Murtaugh’s growing awareness of his age and Riggs’ ongoing struggle with his darker side.

The chemistry between Gibson and Glover remains as strong as ever. Their witty banter and contrasting personalities keep the film engaging even in the face of intense action sequences. While the series had already established its formula, Lethal Weapon 3 still manages to keep things fresh with its high-energy chases, shootouts, and fight scenes. Notably, the film introduces Rene Russo as Lorna Cole, a fellow cop with her own edge, adding a layer of romantic tension with Riggs.
The action is top-notch, with explosive set-pieces and thrilling sequences. However, it’s the heart and humor that elevate this entry. The dynamic between Riggs and Murtaugh, who are now more like family than partners, adds emotional depth to the film amidst the chaos.
While Lethal Weapon 3 doesn’t quite have the sharpness of the first two films, it still delivers an enjoyable ride with plenty of action, laughs, and memorable moments.
