Predator 2 (1990)

Predator 2 (1990)

Predator 2 shifts the iconic alien hunter from the dense jungles of the first film to the chaotic streets of Los Angeles. Directed by Stephen Hopkins, this sequel stars Danny Glover as Lieutenant Mike Harrigan, a tough LAPD officer who finds himself in a deadly game of cat and mouse with a new Predator.
Unlike its predecessor, Predator 2 replaces military survival with urban warfare, creating a fresh yet equally intense atmosphere. The Predator, more advanced and ruthless than before, hunts gang members and police officers alike, displaying its brutal efficiency. The film expands the Predator mythology, introducing new weapons, technology, and even the first glimpse of the Predator hierarchy.
Danny Glover delivers a strong performance as a gritty cop determined to take down the extraterrestrial menace, though the absence of Arnold Schwarzenegger is noticeable. The action is brutal, the pacing relentless, and the 90s-style cinematography adds a unique charm. While it lacks the suspense of the original, Predator 2 makes up for it with high-energy action and deeper Predator lore.
Though it was underrated upon release, the film has gained a cult following over time. If you love sci-fi action with a mix of crime thriller elements, Predator 2 is worth watching!
