The chemistry between Gibson and Glover remains the film’s strongest asset, delivering the classic mix of wisecracks and camaraderie. Joe Pesci returns as the loudmouthed Leo Getz, while Chris Rock joins the cast, adding fresh comedy as Murtaugh’s soon-to-be son-in-law.
The standout addition is Jet Li, who steals the show as a ruthless yet mesmerizing villain. His lightning-fast martial arts sequences bring a new level of intensity to the franchise, making for some of the best fight scenes in Lethal Weapon history. The final showdown is particularly brutal, proving Riggs and Murtaugh are still in the game despite aging jokes being a recurring theme.
While the plot is somewhat predictable and the humor occasionally over-the-top, Lethal Weapon 4 delivers what fans expect—big action, big laughs, and a satisfying farewell to the beloved characters. It may not surpass the earlier entries, but it’s a fun and fitting send-off to an iconic series.
