The Green Mile (1999)

Set in the 1930s on Death Row at Cold Mountain Penitentiary, The Green Mile is a deeply emotional and thought-provoking drama about justice, fate, and the unexplained wonders of the human spirit.
Paul Edgecomb (Tom Hanks), a seasoned prison guard, oversees the inmates awaiting execution. Among them is John Coffey (Michael Clarke Duncan), a massive yet gentle man convicted of a horrific crime. But as Paul gets to know him, he begins to question everythingโbecause John isnโt just an ordinary prisoner. He possesses an unexplainable, almost divine power to heal, raising doubts about his guilt and revealing the cracks in the justice system.
As Paul and his fellow guards witness Johnโs miraculous abilities, they are faced with a moral dilemma: Can they allow the execution of a man who might not only be innocent but also a force for good? Based on Stephen King’s novel, The Green Mile is a heartbreaking yet hopeful story of humanity, faith, and the weight of carrying both guilt and mercy.
