MOSI

In the Marvel Comics universe, Mosi is recognized as the first individual to assume the mantle of the Black Panther. Introduced in the “Marvel Legacy” series by writer Jason Aaron and artist Esad Ribić, Mosi’s story is set approximately 1,000,000 years BC in prehistoric Wakanda. He was the first Wakandan to survive the ingestion of the heart-shaped herb, a ritual that granted him superhuman abilities and the favor of the panther goddess Bast. This transformation enabled him to become the original Black Panther, defending his tribe from various primordial threats.

Mosi’s tenure as the Black Panther was marked by his membership in the Avengers of 1,000,000 BC, a group of Earth’s earliest heroes assembled to protect the planet from colossal dangers. Tragically, Mosi met his end during one of the team’s battles, leading to the disbandment of the Avengers and Wakanda’s subsequent isolation from the outside world.

It’s important to note that while Mosi is depicted as the first Black Panther in recent comic lore, earlier narratives referenced a figure named Bashenga as the original Black Panther. This shift in storytelling reflects Marvel’s evolving exploration of Wakanda’s rich history and its legendary protectors.
