Plot Summary

Moana is a visually stunning and inspiring Disney animated film that tells the story of a courageous young girl chosen by the ocean to save her island and its people. Set in Polynesia, the film follows Moana Waialiki (Auli’i Cravalho), the spirited daughter of Chief Tui (Temuera Morrison), who dreams of exploring the ocean despite her father’s warnings to stay within the reef.

Together, they face the fiery demon Te Kā in a climactic showdown that reveals a surprising and heartfelt truth: Te Kā is actually Te Fiti, transformed by the loss of her heart.

In the end, Moana restores the heart, saving her people and their way of life. She returns home as a confident leader, inspiring her people to embrace their voyaging heritage.
